Now Accepting Applications for Fall 2021
Welcome, potential student! We’re so glad you’re here, and we love it when excited writers reach out to us to learn more.
This program is open to adults of all ages and backgrounds. If you’re all-in for Jesus and aspire to be a novelist, blogger, YouTuber, podcaster, or social media influencer, you’re in the right place.
Our first full-time class will begin in the fall of 2021. We are now accepting applications for this class.
This is a full-time, intensive, on-site training program. Students will need to relocate to Zanesville, Ohio, for the duration of the 2-year program.
We will fill seats in this program on a rolling basis (as applications are received), so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
We recommend carefully reviewing all of the information on this page, and the provided links, before applying. But if you’re ready, the button below will take you to our secure online application.
This program will feel more like working for a creative agency than going to school. This is a vocational program, which means it is learning by doing. Students will produce short stories, essays, blog posts, advertising copy, novel-length work, and more. Students will generally be working on-site for an eight hour workday, five days per week.
Students will retain the rights to their work and can expect to leave the program with a catalog of materials ready to sell, and in some cases will publish work during the term of the program.
Part of being a successful writer in today’s media market is the development of a platform or audience. Students, with guidance and oversight, will create personal brands and develop their audiences.
We’re not just teaching students how to write. We’re teaching students how to do the work of being a writer. They’ll leave this program ready to step into an independent or conventional writing career.
Schedule a “Visit”
If you’re considering attending the School of Kingdom Writers, we’d love to chat with you.
Please set up a time to talk to one of our directors, Brad or Melissa Pauquette, before you apply. “Visits” can be virtual over Zoom (or phone call), or we’re happy to meet in person if you’d like to travel to Zanesville, Ohio.
Simply fill out this form, and we’ll contact you to schedule your “visit.”
Request a Visit - Virtual or In-Person
We are not interested in the degrees, certifications, or credentials that you’re bringing with you. There’s a good chance that students that haven’t thrived in a conventional educational setting will find the right home here.
Only one qualification matters: do you have an unquenchable drive to write for Jesus?
Our only goal is to identify twelve students with a calling and potential to be effective writers to influence the American media.
This program is open to writers of all ages and backgrounds. We would love to see a diverse body of students.
Prepare to Apply
The application is easy. We do our best to make sure that the process is comfortable and conversational.
The process starts with a written application. Important: Read this before you start the application (click here).
We use a secure online application system for all applications. The link above will tell you all of the questions that you’ll be asked, so that you can prepare your answers before you start the application.
After we receive your application, we’ll contact you within eight weeks. If we move forward in the process, we’ll schedule an interview.
Our selection committee will rely on prayer and discernment, asking the Holy Spirit to identify the individuals who will most benefit from this program and impact Americans for Jesus.
There are only twelve seats available in this program. We will fill these seats on a rolling basis, as applications are received. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible. We will close the application once all seats have been filled.

Housing & Residence
Students will need to live in Zanesville, Ohio, for the duration of the 2-year program, or within commuting distance.
We do not provide dormitories or on-campus housing. However, we are happy to help students arrange low-cost housing, either individually or with roommates of the same gender.
Students are welcome to secure their own housing, but we encourage unmarried students without children to take advantage of the opportunity to grow in intentional community (living in a shared house with other students).
Tuition & Expenses
Tuition will cost $7,200 per year. Note that this is a year-round program.
Tuition can be paid up front for the year, or on a monthly basis at $600/month. A deposit of $600 is required upon acceptance to the program to secure the student’s seat in our program.
Students should have an additional $1,000 available per year for other expenses.
Students will be responsible for their own living expenses. Students will have access to a kitchenette at our facility.
We do not provide financial aid. We are a debt-free organization, and we will not willingly encourage our students to incur debt for this program. Students may work while they are enrolled, and we have set the tuition at a rate that we feel is reasonable.
We will provide resources for students to fundraise for their tuition. This is a ministry opportunity, so we encourage students who need help with the tuition amount, to raise funds from fellow believers that wish to support their calling. Following acceptance into the program, we’ll provide materials and training to students to help them raise up to 75% of the tuition cost.
We’d love to hear from you!
