As we prepare for more students to join us this fall, we will be expanding our space at 47 N. 4th St. in downtown Zanesville, Ohio. We will now occupy most of the second floor.

This is a very cool building and it has been an excellent home for us over the past year.

If you’ve been praying for us for a while, you know that we’ve struggled to find adequate space for next year. Our program is pretty different, and it’s been challenging to find exactly what we need. As much as we love the present building, it’s just not large enough to accommodate any more students.

But God is good and he has answered our prayers! Our landlord at our present building will be rehabbing additional square footage in the building and also moved another tenant off of our floor to give us more space. Altogether we’ll be adding approximately 2,000 square feet to accommodate an additional twelve students this fall!

We still have space among those twelve students. If you’re thinking about joining us, the time to apply is now! Learn more here. Take a moment and fill out this application. The application is free and easy. There’s no commitment, it’s just a conversation starter so that we can both begin praying and work through the discernment process together.

So many of you have been praying earnestly for space with us. Thank you so much. It has been a long and complicated process, and we’re so happy to have a plan in place that will house us for the next few years.

The Lord drew my attention to Genesis 26 a few nights ago. After Abraham dies, the Philistines ask Isaac to leave. As he heads out on his own he tries to find space in the region where his father Abraham had lived. The Bible tells us, “When Isaac’s servants dug in the valley and found there a well of spring water, the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac’s herdsmen, saying, ‘the water is ours.’…Then they dug another well, and they quarreled over that also… And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, saying ‘For now the Lord has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.’”

This feels a bit like the journey we’ve been on over the past six months. We’ve had a couple of frustrating near misses with some other spaces, but finally God has put the pieces together. The Lord has made room for us, and we will be fruitful in this space.

This property really is an ideal space for us. It has a very cool, writerly vibe. With the new additions, the way the rooms are laid out is just about perfect and we can accomplish all of our core mission objectives here. We’ll post pictures to our website and social media as the spaces are prepared.

We especially want to thank our landlord, Steve Shirley, for his generosity in making this space available and treating us very fairly on the lease price. Steve and his business partner have been good to us many times and we really appreciate them. Please bless them in your prayers.

Thank you for praying. Thank you for trusting the Lord to bring the pieces together and joining your faith with ours. Thank you for your patience with us as we’ve walked through this journey.

For now the Lord has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.
